iChefs | 2026
On Monday the 20th of April, Woodland Heights classrooms were transformed into pop-up restaurants of all kinds. Their aim: to be the ones to take home the coveted i-Chefs apron.
i-Chefs, the cooking competition which takes place at Woodland Heights as a fundraiser for the Y12 matric dance, is designed to test students’ cooking, entertaining and restaurateuring skills, with each restaurant having a theme and all cooking, decorations and entertainment following that theme. This year we had the fine-dining Fancy Fork, a taste into the world of Studio Ghibli at the Ghibli Night Market, a trip around the world at Around the World in 80 Flavours, the East Asian Lucky Lotus, and a ticket to some the world’s finest food at A Taste of Italia.
Throughout the night, there was a livestream from each restaurant and exclusive interviews with chefs and judges.
The competition was taken by storm this year with all the restaurants’ food being a hit with the judges. But, of course, only one team could receive the title of i-Chefs winners 2026, and that team was the Lucky Lotus!
If you didn’t manage to take part or book at one of the restaurants, there’s always the next competition! I look forward to seeing what the next i-Chefs will bring to the table.
