Helping the planet one beach clean up at a time!
By now anyone living on this earth knows how much we, as a species, are damaging it. From the toxic chemicals we emit into the air, to the tons of plastic bags and bottles that end up in our oceans, humans are essentially destroying the only home we have. The environmental portfolio leaders here at ISCT are making sure all students are aware of this issues, and offer advice on how we can help to make our difference in our own little way.
On the 15th September, a few students (led by the Year 11 Environmental Portfolio Leaders) headed down to Sunset Drive beach in Blouberg to participate in the international beach clean up event that was being held. Together, the students filled trash bags which plastics, cans, polystyrene, and lots of other litter they found invading the beach.
The recently elected Environmental Portfolio Leaders, Masoumeh Lak and Fay-yaahd Fakier, have already begun working on helping to make the world a more positive and healthy place.
