Winter Warmer Concert
By now, I’m sure that many of us are aware of the musical excellence of our pupils; on a cold Thursday afternoon, we had the opportunity to celebrate these incredible students.
On the 21st of May, we hosted the Winter Warmer concert in the dungeon. The concert filled the halls with mellisonant melodies that reflected the weeks of hard work and practice. Each and every student had their piece prepared and ready by the night of the concert, managing to juggle studying, homework, and downtime.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere filled our guests with tranquility, just as warm hot chocolate filled them with a sweet rush of fresh chocolate and fluffy marshmallows. Each component of the warm, cosy atmosphere was perfectly planned and set out by our coordinators: the Cultural Portfolio, led by Tirzah and Aidan and overseen by Mr Engelbrecht; our wonderful (and ever-present) AV crew; and our team of writers and photographers, the Phocus Portfolio.
The Winter Warmer concert was a night to remember; with marvellous performances and a smooth-running show, the audience was able to sit back, relax and really enjoy the experience.
To end with a direct quote from one of our audience members, the concert was described as: “A fantastic evening that ran smoothly, and everyone was very talented. The marshmallows and hot chocolate were a very nice touch for the children.”
