Valentine’s Day 2023
Games, performances, roses and laughs – ISCT’s 2023 Valentine’s Day was a great success.
On the 14th of February, in the final period, we had a high school assembly, the fundraising portfolio having distributed roses and chocolates throughout the day. Gathered on the top field, our two fantastic hosts and heads of the cultural portfolio, Nowethu and Danielle, kept us entertained.
Guess the song was a hit, particularly for those who won chocolates from it. Following that, we watched 4 pairs of best friends play a game to prove how well they know each other. Our sibling pair, Josie and Abby, got basically every question, and we ended with a courageous Valentine’s proposal from Khiran to Kieran. (It was a yes.)
Performances made up the interludes between games. Avu read the poem ‘Love’ by Carol Ann Duffy, and Sofia sang ‘The Girl’, followed by Sithu, who sang ‘Lovefool’. Kiara played the piano for us, Ruby and Retaya performed a humorous skit, and our cultural heads read a beautiful poem called ‘Sthandwa Sami’ by Nonhlanhla Nyathi.
All in all, it was a cheerful display and a great end to the day.
