Science Expo | 2026
Most of us know about the anticipated, (or dreaded), Science Expo that the Y8s do each year. This year, with month-long preparations starting in January, was no different.
On Monday afternoon, the Y8s gathered to set up their expo boards in the Dungeon and the Creative Lab, in preparation for the judging the next day. Judges from UCT came to mark the Expo, and they were greeted with a large variety of different projects, ranging from paint to measuring electricity in the soil to ways to cool down homes with a design based off of an ant.
Finally, on Friday, the prize giving ceremony was held. It started out with a talk from The Shark Spotters about different types of tags, before the Y6s, who also did their Science Expo, received certificates of participation.
Afterwards, the Y8 awards were announced. Well done to the four students who achieved gold medals!
Hopefully you all managed to take a peak while the boards were up, but if you didn’t here are some wonderful photos of the projects and the prizegiving!
