High School Fun Day

From Year 7 to 11
On Tuesday the 3rd of December for our end of year fun day the Year 7s went to Rush. The trip there in a hired bus was an exciting start to the day before we got to the park. As soon as we arrived, we gathered at the main jumping arena and started with a quick warm up with the Rush mentors. We then went on and played a few games, including red light, green light and freeze jump, where we got the opportunity to win prizes. Megan and Mackenzie won Rush’s Golden ticket, allowing them entry and an hour to jump and play games. Together as a grade we played a game of dodge-ball although the game ended in a draw. The teachers joined in on the fun as well, doing flips on the trampoline. It was great fun, but unfortunately we eventually had to head back to school.

The 3rd of December was a calm, relaxing yet fun filled day that entailed pottery painting and appetizing food.
The Year 9s had a wonderful time in the Clay Café located in Hout Bay. Each person had the opportunity to choose the piece of pottery of their desires and create their dream piece. The grade all enjoyed a delicious meal along with the arts and crafts, taking great joy out of the swift service from the restaurant.
When the students weren’t sitting down to paint their Pinterest-inspired pottery, they were playing outside on the jungle gym despite the gloomy weather and rain.
Overall the Year 9 students enjoyed a relaxing day of pottery painting.

Year 10 Surfing Trip
After the stress of exams and handbacks, the Year 10s were treated to a much-deserved day of relaxation and fun with a surfing trip to Muizenberg. Despite a rainy, overcast start to the morning, the weather cleared up beautifully just in time for our arrival at the beach.
Although there was a brief delay with the bus, everything went smoothly for the rest of the drive, and after we had arrived and all put on our wetsuits, we were excited to get into the water. Split into smaller groups, we received guidance from our instructors, who showed us how to stand on the boards and safely handle those inevitable wipeouts. The warm waves and gentle swells provided ideal conditions for everyone to get the hang of surfing.
After our surf session, we dried off and enjoyed some free time on the beach, drinking coffee and replenishing ourselves with an ice cream before getting back on the bus back to school again.
Thank you to the teachers who made this incredible experience possible—it was a fantastic way to end the school year and have fun together!

Year 11 Bloc 11
On the second last day of school, each grade in the high school went on a fun day and enjoyed an activity. The Year 11s went to Bloc 11 for wall climbing. Though some students had more nerves about the experience than others, everybody thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely go again! Along with the climbing sections of the venue, there was a gym with weights and other various equipment which we were kindly allowed to use. Whether we were working out with friends by the gym, making competitions of who could climb a certain way, or playing UNO on the side, the Bloc 11 building was filled with happy students and positive energy as we celebrated the end of a long year.
