Clothing Swap
On the 13th of October, 2021, the environmental portfolio arranged a highly successful clothing swap that not only allowed us to exchange clothing but also helped spread the idea of sustainable fashion – a concept founded upon the fact that fashion production makes up 10% of humanity’s carbon emissions.
Numerous students brought their unwanted, still in good condition, clothing to environmental ambassadors during first break on Wednesday. Whatever they brought in was exchanged for tickets and, during the following break, students could exchange those tickets for a chance to pick and choose items from the tables: pants, tops, skirts, dresses, etc.
Almost everything was gone by the end of break, with leftover items being donated to U-Turn, and it was a victory for everyone involved.
