Festive Baked Goods Drive
A baked goods drive, organized by Sophia and her fundraising portfolio, ran throughout the last week of school. On Thursday the 3rd of December, a group of the grade 11s made various baked goodies such as brownies, fudge, decorated some cakes and cookies brought in by various years 11s.
Sophia then went that Friday, the 4th of December, to collect the baked goods and delivered them at the pediatric ward of the Victoria Hospital in Wynberg, where nurses later distributed the treats (giving the kids there 1 treat per day).
The goal of the baked goods drive was to spread some festive cheer to the kids in the hospital, especially because they’re not really allowed to have visitors during covid. Many of the mom’s and kids stay admitted to the hospital for quite a long time without seeing loved ones and without being able to come and go easily (for shopping and other various reasons).
Sophia, her team, and the year 11s (Rabiya, Cesar, Lara, Masego, Mika’eel, Giammaria), decided to send some festive cheer their way in these trying times.
