Valentine’s day treats for Victoria Hospital
This Valentine’s day the community service portfolio decided to do another small project for the children in the pediatric ward of Victoria hospital. Some of these children have been in the ward for months, and due to Covid, there is limited visitation allowed, so we wanted to do our best to spread some love in what must be some very difficult times for both the children and their families.
In their classes during the week leading up to Valentine’s day, the Keystage 1 and 2 students all made beautiful handmade cards for the children at the hospital. In the Highschool, Cara-Claire, Layla and myself baked valentine’s day themed cookies and cupcakes to be given out along with the cards.
Luckily, after going to drop everything off on Monday, the staff at the hospital told me there were lots of happy little faces in the children’s ward that afternoon, so I think we achieved our goal of brightening their day a little bit.
