Activity Day 2025
November 26th marked two equally important days: the long-awaited shortened school days and, of course, ISCT’s activity day!
The day consisted of five different activities for students to participate in, ranging from highly strategic games of chess and bowls to some high stakes marshmallow tower building.
Some groups struggled a little more than others on the marshmallow and spaghetti tower building STEAM challenge, but some rose above the confines of dry noodles to build their own architectural masterpieces. A few of the highest towers stood tall at around a whopping 90cm! Our towers didn’t just have to be tall but had to have at least some level of structural integrity to secure the victory, making it all the more impressive.
The fencing was definitely another highlight of the day; we were taught some of the history of the sport, being developed so that swordsmen could practise fighting in long castle hallways, and a few basic movements, like the ‘en garde’ position and lunges. After practising with a partner, we were able to put on proper fencing gear and go head to head with our opponents, which was hugely entertaining.
A big thank you to all the instructors who taught us all we needed to know about their respective sports with passion and enthusiasm, and to the teachers for organising this day for us all.
