Prize Giving

The 4th of December brought with it the last school day of 2024, as well as the junior end of year prize giving. 

The students, parents and teachers present were entertained by a lovely poetry reading and two musical items, all performed by students in grade 7 to grade 9. The prize giving ceremony was full of joy and swelling with pride as, student by student, everyone was called up to recieve awards detailing their hard work and commitment to their education and sport in 2024. 

Unfortunately, the jubilation was disrupted due to a tearful announcement – Mrs Katherine Bennet, a beloved English teacher and head of student affairs, formally retired. Mrs Bennett had been a shoulder to lean on for so many at ISCT, and such a warm and welcoming presence. She will be dearly missed. 

However, she will not be forgotten! A new award, handed out for the first time at this ceremony, has been named after Mrs Bennet and is fittingly been dubbed ‘The Legacy Award.’

All in all, the final prize giving of 2024 was a success, and ended with many happy students running around to say goodbye to friends and teachers before the long-awaited December holidays began.
