Summer Concert 2022
On the 3rd of March 2022, ISCT hosted the first offline concert since the pandemic. In light of the summer season, the concert was set up outside and had a picnic theme to enhance the summer ambience. A wide range of genres was presented; from jazz, rock, musical theatre and even drama performances. There was a joyful atmosphere throughout the whole evening, especially when the teachers performed ‘Uptown funk’ which got the crowd dancing and clapping along.
The performances were all astounding and entertaining. Each performer gleamed with joy and passion under the colourful lights. Talent infused the summer night air, sparking smiles and excitement in the audience. Thank you to all of the music teachers who have guided their students to this point, and to each performer for graciously displaying their love for such an essential part of life which is the arts. ISCT is fortunate to have such gifted and artistic students, truly one of its kind.
Arin and Julia, heads of the cultural portfolio, hosted and organised the concert, working since the beginning of the term. We thank them for their efforts and for putting on this wonderful show. The fundraising team were also present selling delicious snacks for the audience to enjoy as they watched the pieces. Several grades also worked together as we had Jemma, Kiera, and Retaya helping organise the performers backstage. We of course need to thank Cape Audio College for providing us with their top-notch technical skills and equipment to put on the show. They also kindly taught and worked with the AV crew who also put in numerous hours to help put on the show. Last but not least, we need to thank Mr Engelbrecht for helping everyone get through this concert, organising the event, and being the best cheerleader for everyone.
