Matric class of ‘23 40 Days Assembly
The famous tradition of the Forty Days marks the end of the year 12’s matric period, before they write their final exams.
The assembly given by the year 12’s of 2023 to mark the start of their forty days was full of advice – and laughter. Head prefects Josie and Danielle opened the assembly by introducing the ‘Survival Guide for ISCT Students.’ The whole grade took turns giving advice on how to survive some of the high school teacher’s classes, which was full of amusement from the attending students and teachers alike.
Of the sixteen teachers discussed, some of the satire included: ‘laugh at Mr Henry’s dad jokes, or you will not be on his good side’, ‘how to be Mr Jame’s favourite student (use chocolate cake as a bribery tool!)’, ‘why you should be best friends with Dr Doyle’s nieces’ and ‘the perfect desk setup’.
Students were advised to use their ‘monthly shout’ in maths wisely (referring to how to waste time in the lesson!) and to look out for Mr Munyarari’s automated greeting.
The assembly ended with the matric class of 2023 declaring the students as ‘officially survivor certified!’ which was met with rounds of applause as the year 12’s made their way off stage.
