Founders Day 2022
On the 28th of October, we had our first founder’s day since COVID, celebrating 24 years since the beginning of ISCT.
In preparation, students in every class contributed to a google slide, depicting things they are proud of and things they have improved upon this year. A lovely array of photos was also included.
On the day, games and activities were spread out upon the bottom field, and food and drinks were supplied by both parents and the grade 11 students, who ran a successful braai on the top field, selling boerewors rolls and cool drinks. Picnic blankets decorated the top field, and people gathered around the stage in front of the drama cabin to watch the entertainment.
The music department worked hard to organize numerous wonderful performances. There were instruments, singing, poetry and even an impressive gymnastics show! It was great to see students from both the high school and primary school on stage together as they sang ‘Tomorrow’ from Annie and ‘Memories’, by Maroon 5.
At around 6:30, the flag-bearing ceremony began. Students at our school, representing their country and carrying their flags, marched to the sound of their anthem and had their flags posted beneath the green veranda. Many students dressed in traditional clothing, showing their pride and representing their countries admirably.
By the end of the event, the year 11s had sold out of food twice – a massive thank you to everyone who supported them. Even more thanks to the organizers of the event, who made it such a special evening!
