Wynberg Basketball Tournament

Over the weekend of the 13th and 14th of October, the U16 boys basketball team took part in the Wynberg basketball tournament. The weekend was long and hot but was filled with enthusiasm and laughter.

On Friday, the boys had one tough game against Wynberg which they unfortunately lost but after a good rest they started the Saturday strong (and early) with a win against Bishops. The game was close but our team pulled through ending the game with a score of 23-21. Competing fiercely with the hot sun beating on them they won one more game before the final games. The U16’s won against Constantia Waldorf 39-11, putting themselves into the game for 3rd place against Rondebosch.

The boys put all they had into the last game but after a long afternoon and barely a full team (most injured at this point) they lost to Rondebosch 17-23, which meant they ended up placing 4th out of 8 teams. We are very proud of them and all their hard work.

“They can have all the equipment in the world but our heart and passion is how we will win.” says our Captain Jacob.
