Valentine’s Day!
Ah Valentine’s day, long awaited by many – long dreaded by many a wallet – there is no other day quite like it. A day of grand confessions and quiet crushes, of hand written notes and hastily bought chocolates. It always manages to leave a mark.
In the true spirit of the day – that being love, chocolate and capitalism – ISCT did not disappoint. From fresh roses being delivered with hand-written notes in the middle of class, to a bake sale selling brownies I still want the recipe for, to the sea of people covered in pink and white, it couldn’t have been more cliche, nor more fun, if we tried.
There was something so wholesome to seeing the whole school, students and staff alike getting swept up in the mood, sending buying one another roses and dressing up.
Despite the very last minute un-cancelling of the assembly – rain and cables do not mix – all the performers did fantastically. Aidan and Josh sang wonderfully, the rest of the year 12s sang too.
Thank you to everyone who made the day possible in spite of the rather auspicious date, intermittent showers and chaos of the day. And of course, thank you to everyone who supported it, and by extension, my matric dance!
