Athletics Day 2026

Last week Tuesday, normal school ceased operations for one of ISCT’s term one highlights: the Annual Athletics Day. Wynberg boys hosted us once again this year, and all of our athletes made full use of their wonderful facilities.

After the green, red and blue multi-coloured horde had completed their descent upon the Wynberg athletics track, the sports day began with the famous (or infamous?) mile run. After everyone had been suitably warmed up by the mile, the rest of sports day could commence.

This year saw the introduction of a podium which allowed the top 3 contestants in each event to bask in their hard won glory in front of all the houses.

At the end of a hard day of competing, it was finally time to reveal the winners of the house cup. And that winner was, a small drumroll if you please………Draco!! Titan came in 2nd and Orion was in a rather distant 3rd. Draco also managed to snag the spirit cup alongside their main victory.

Massive thanks to the AV crew for ensuring that everyone could hear all the essential announcements,and to the fundraising committee for keeping everyone fueled for the busy day. Finally, a huge thanks to the teachers for keeping score, measuring and doing many other unseen acts to ensure the smooth running of the entire event.
