All About Me
My name is Ruby. In my free time, I like to make things: I like drawing, painting, sewing and crafting and I enjoy imagining stories and dancing (I used to do ballet and modern dance although I now do jazz). Sometimes I play with my brother – adventures or other games that often include magical creatures or items. On Saturday mornings, I go to the college of Magic where I learn Magic, mime clowning, drama puppetry and ventriloquism combined with valuable life skills. I like bright happy colours, beautiful gardens, nice music and pretty lights. I love my family.
On the contrary, I dislike dark colours and gloomy things as well as loud noises. I don’t like making decisions on the spot; I can be quite indecisive, and I don’t like time pressure on creative projects. I tend to overthink things, which is nice sometimes – it’s fun to think – but when I need to get things done it can be a pain.
If I can’t accomplish things I thought would be easy or if I don’t understand something I’m really interested in I can feel frustrated and inadequate. I get angry when people litter. Those are the people that are make the world ugly, polluted and disgusting.
My idea of a good life for myself when I grow up is for me to be successful in my career and enjoy it. I want to have people that I am close to and can trust. I want to achieve my goals. Hopefully in the future there will be less suffering – more cures for diseases, less poverty. I wonder what people will discover and invent in the future. I hope it will improve the way we live.
My family is great: my mom, my dad and my brother. My brother, whose name is Justin, is chatty and imaginative. He is sweet (and crazy). Not surprisingly, he is my favourite brother. My dad has six siblings, consequently my extended family on his side is very large. In contrast, my mom’s side is quite small. As a family, we like to go outside together, watch TV and play board games or card games.
My friends are great too. A lot of them have arrived at school in the last few years, but I still know some people from longer ago. One girl I met at six months old I see every week.
And that was All About Me.
