CANSA Shavathon

On Friday, February 28, ISCT hosted the 2025 CANSA Shavathon, a vibrant and meaningful event organized by the Community Service Portfolio. The CANSA organization, which has been a leading force in the fight against cancer since 1931, aims to fund research, educate the public, and provide support to those affected by cancer. ISCT has proudly supported CANSA for several years, and this year’s event embraced their 2025-2027 theme, “United by Unique.”
The Community Service Portfolio kicked off the event with an outdoor high school assembly where students began adding their colorful flair to the event by spraying their hair in bright and bold colours, showing solidarity and raising funds for the cause. Students from KS3 and KS4 all participated, paying R25 to wear civvies and join in the fun.
The CANSA Shavathon was not just about having fun; it was about making a real difference in our community. Many high school students embraced the chance to get creative with their hair, from funky designs to vibrant colors, while others took time during their break to get involved. The event was a huge success, and ISCT is excited to continue supporting this important cause in the future.
